Learning the Rules of Lowball Poker
Lowball is an interesting variation of five card draw. Instead of the highest hand winning, the player with the lowest hand wins. The lowest hand can be defined in a few ways. Some players do not count straights and flushes when picking the lowest hand. In other games straights and flushes do count against a hand being low.
To play lowball draw poker you will need a deck of cards, chips, and 2 to 8 players. At the start of the game all players ante up. This means they all place a minimal bet in the pot. The dealer will deal five cards to each player, starting with the player to their left. These cards are dealt face down.
